Marradong encompasses the Shires of Boddington, Cuballing, Williams, and Wandering. Marradong is home to rolling hills, expansive skies, native bushlands, historic buildings and is one of only two remaining habitats of WA’s elusive state emblem, the numbat.
The region’s name, Marradong Country, is the correct Aboriginal [Noongar] name for the district. It is part of the Wiilman nation and is drawn from the word ‘Marra’ which means hand. Marradong refers to a unique hills formation in the district that resembles a hand.
